Karl Wilhelm Gustafsson

Name is Karl Wilhelm Gustafsson in birth record. Said to have been changed to Charles William by teacher when he entered school. Known as Carl to the family and close friends; Charles or Gus to business associates. Became a member of the Hewlett Packard family when Sanborn Associates was purchased by hp about 1950. Medical instrumentation was the product. Was model-maker, inovative machinist. He was a Deacon in the First Congregational Church of Waverley Square where he was active all his life. Sally says "my grandfather gardened - I remember a big vegetable garden in the back yard. In the summer we'd sometimes sit in the shade of the grape arbor on Sunday afternoons. We'd have a big dinner on Christmas Eve, similar to a Swedish smorgasbord, with lutefisk and limpa bread."
